Modern Organic Jewelry made with Fire Lush lampwork beads, 14K gold dipped druzy stones, sterling silver, semi precious gemstones, pearls, and herkimer diamonds
Woohoo! Some of my beads will be featured in a collaborative exhibit called "Convergence" sponsored by the International Society of Glass Beadmakers (ISGB) and Bead&Button magazine. Convergence is the ISGB's juried exhibition project for 2009. ISGB members are paired with International jewelry designers and are to focus on the four elements of water, air, earth, and fire.
I was paired with Nan Morrissette, who designed a beautiful peyote stitched neckpiece based on lampwork beads I created. She entitled it, "Sea-Fever" based on the poem by John Masefield. It was an absolute honor to work with such an incredibly talented artist!
From the ISGB website, "You can visit the Convergence shows at the Ohio Glass Museum in Lancaster, Ohio, in spring 2009; the Bead&Button Show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in June 2009; and the ISGB Gathering in Miami, Florida in July 2009. A limited number of exhibition pieces will be featured in Bead&Button magazineç—´ special issue dedicated to Convergence designs. This publication is planned for October 2009 and will include beautiful photographs of the selected jewelry, step-by-step instructions, illustrations and how-to photos for making the pieces, and artist biographies. The Convergence project has produced distinctive jewelry designs for the exhibition culminating in a Live Auction at our 2009 annual conference, The Gathering, to benefit ISGB educational programs and CERF, the Craft Emergency Relief Fund."
